The Kinect image sensor offers a new way to control models, namely use your body as controller.
Not only as toy but also usable with physically disabled people.
MS-RDS supports the Kinect for Windows and the Kinect for XBOX (version with power supply).
I am busy with creating some examples and support for the end users.
I like to know if there are potential users for this examples?

Re: MS-Kinect and fischertechnik
Funny fact is that ROS supported the Kinect much sooner then RDS.

@Defiant,
What is the relevance and value of your remark for this sub-forum?
The Kinect SDK offers a more general use of the Kinect for Windows so there will be a lot more platform which are offering support for the Kinect. This forum is about MS-RDS and fischertechnik only.
A discussion about what platform was first is also not so relevant.
There was already support for the Kinect in MS-RDS 2008 R3 together with the release of the MS-Kinect SDK beta 1 last year.

What kind of platform are you referring to here? Probably not robotic or operating system platforms.
Main point was the information that the Kinect is also supported by other robotic systems.vleeuwen hat geschrieben: A discussion about what platform was first is also not so relevant.
Thanks for the confirmation. Last year was 2011 which is after 2010.vleeuwen hat geschrieben: There was already support for the Kinect in MS-RDS 2008 R3 together with the release of the MS-Kinect SDK beta 1 last year.

Fischertechnik and Studica are both partners in the MS-RDS research project of Microsoft.
Fischertechnik and Studica have a professional relation.
I work together with Fischertechnik and Studica in their Ontario Skill 2012 fischertechnik virtual Robotic competition project.
It is not an advertisement of myself as your sugested. For that purpose I have my own private website.
For your subject ( robotics+ROS) there exist an different sub forum, named “technik”, in this ft:com forum.
Useful suggestions concerning the subject of this sub forum are welcome.
