Hi everyone,
I need to buy some extra hose for pneumatics. The original hose 122363 is specified as 2,0 x 3,6 mm, and all other hoses from the FTDB have an inner diameter of 2,0 mm. Unfortunately the thinnest blue PU tube I can find is 2,5 x 4 mm, so I suspect it will not work. Silicone hose with an internal diameter of 2,0 mm, on the other hand, is easy to find in two external diameters: 3,2 and 4,0 mm.
So here's my question: According to your experience, which hose would be the best replacement?
Thanks in advance,
Rubem

Hallo allerseits,
Rubem

Hi Rubem,
afaik fischertechnik is also using silicone tube as the latest type of hosepipe. There have been many types over the years. I think you are right about the original one being 3.6mm, which has some minor advantages e.g. when putting it through an ft notch.
Aftermarket 2*4mm is perfectly usable though, and also sold by Fischerfriendsman:

Hi Rubem,
you may also use silicone tube 2x3mm in case you need to route it in tight bends.
Kind regards
Peter

Hi The Rob and Peter,
I didn't know ft is also using silicone tubes, that's a good thing. Since both external diameters are accepted I'll probably shop for both diameters and use whichever is most appropriate. Thanks for the information!

You're welcome as always
Just one more remark: the 2x3 tube does not work for vacuum. It collapses and blocks.
Kind regards
Peter
