I will be teaching a "Systems and Control Technology" / "Robot Wars" qualification (A Level) to 17 and 18 year old students soon. I have some money to invest in fischertechnik resources. As well as buying individual kits, I'd like a kit which is just parts - lots of fischertechnic parts and bits. Is there such a kit available and where could I buy it in the UK?
www.amazon.co.uk offer lots of kits for an intended purpose, but no box of parts.
Thanks

Hi and welcome here,
the "universal" available at amazon has many parts for example.
But you can also look here:
http://www.technik-lpe.eu/produkte/fischertechnik.html
This company sells fischertechnik specially for schools.

Hi mv16,
I suppose that the "Creative Box 1000" would best fit your requirements; it contains more than 700 miscellaneous parts
(see e.g. http://www.knobloch-gmbh.de/wbc.php?sid ... =8&recno=5).
A huge quantity of statics is included in "Advanced Super Cranes", and a lot of parts for cars and construction vehicules can be found in "Super Trucks"
(see e.g. http://www.knobloch-gmbh.de/wbc.php?sid ... 15&recno=5).
Best regards,
Dirk

Thanks for your replies. I agree the creative box seems to be just what I'm looking for. For some reason it's not available from amazon.co.uk, however I found this web site studica.com that is anything from 30% to 50% than amazon.co.uk!!
I've got £4000 (4800EUR) to spend on Fischertechnik, so I think I'll buy a few kits and see how good they are, and then spend up to my limit!
Again, thanks.

Hello,
you can also contact Ralf Knobloch from Knobloch Gmbh, they are the resellers for fischertechnik in Germany and ship to all other countries too. I think they will be able to sell at a good price too. Their Homepage is www.knobloch-gmbh.de
Greetings,

Re: Fischertechnik in UK
Hello mv16,
congratulations - this could turn up to be the best investment you ever did for your students.
And if you think about Robotics: to exhaust your budget, you should consider to by some Robo I/O Extensions - they are offered for sale ("B-Ware") at Knobloch (see http://www.knobloch-gmbh.de/wbc.php?pid ... etail.html). Compared with the TX (at threefold the price), the most significant restriction is the lack of a "download modus" (so you can only use them "online", connected with an USB cable to the PC).
Good luck and best regards,
Dirk
