I got new ft parts, so I'm recreating some interesting models from old kits that I don't own. Among these is the Robo TX(T) Electropneumatic. I've successfully built a replica of the color sorter robot with a few changes. The main differences are the flexible silicone hoses which are thicker than the original ones, so I had to use a countersink 32321 instead of a block 15 with hole 32064 -- no big deal. I've also used my DIY pneumatic solenoid assembly instead of the solenoids 35327 which I don't have. After a few adjustments, everything is working perfectly.

So I found myself using the old TXT and the original Robo Pro again. Everything feels faster and simpler. Saving a local file is just File / Save instead of the convoluted 4-step (or so) procedure of Robo Pro Coding. Loading and running a program in the controller is much, much faster. Online mode works instantaneously. I can easily show the color sensor values on the PC screen. Using the TXT display doesn't take an extra minute or so. The documentation is comprehensive and easy to access.

Granted, the old environment is outdated and Windows-only which of course was a a big problem for many users. Robo Pro's flowchart interface is quite idiosyncratic and has a steeper learning curve. But, flawed as it is, it does provide a smoother workflow.

Die TXT-Anzeige dauert kaum eine Minute länger. Die Dokumentation ist umfassend und leicht zugänglich.

Zugegeben, die alte Umgebung ist veraltet und nur für Windows verfügbar, was für viele Nutzer natürlich ein großes Problem darstellte. Die Flussdiagramm-Oberfläche von Robo Pro ist recht eigenwillig und erfordert eine steilere Lernkurve. So fehlerhaft sie auch sein mag, sie sorgt für einen reibungsloseren Arbeitsablauf.
