March 19, 2022 in Enschede, Saxion University of Applied Sciences section: TBK and I will present our first steps in the development of upgrading the factory software during this FT convention:
RoboPro MQTT communication using SLI elements with the outside world.
The objective of this project is to track the product as it makes its way through the production line and into storage.
Adding units for the supply of semi-finished products and the distribution of finished products.

Re: Saxion-TBK FT factory at Ft-convention Enschede
Great advance, congratulations!
The SLI is interesting, although SLI functions only accept one parameter and return one value.
For that reason, I have developed smartNode, an external solution connected to the TXT through I²C.

Wow, very nice. This factory is a dream, NodeRed and MQTT.
I take a greate interesset to the mqtt robo pro client. Is there any source code? How heavy is the installation?
Thx for the fisch (pictures)

Re: Saxion-TBK FT factory at Ft-convention Enschede
@Rei,
I already show 3 years ago at a FT-convention, it is easy possible to work with more inputs or outputs.
When you combine several small SLI's and use the lock.
In the example, there a 5 data inputs and a message ID.
It is even possible to program a kind of a branch, as also show in this example.
A bigger challenge is to bring the incoming MQTT messages at the level of RoboPro (at workflow level); but this is working too.

There is no source code available.
We (Saxion-TBK Enschede and I) are still developing but the POC have show that the idea of integrating MQTT in RoboPro with SLI's is possible and working. We have presented the first prototype during the FT-convention in Enschede.
We do the same during the Saxion (University of Applied Sciences) Open days in Deventer second of April and the Saxion open days Enschede 9th of April.
We are also busy with improving the mechanical part of the fischertechnik factory. This because some weaknesses in the models are causing problems. and instabilities.
