Hello Richard,

this seems to be a known problem with the TX display. I observed the same effect (display turns off after some time) with my plotter and the DCF77 clock (no I²C device attached). The TX continues working, but the display remains "dark". After switching the TX off and on again, the display is back. I couldn't reproduce the occurence of the error conformably - sometimes it takes minutes, sometimes hours, even with the same TX, until the display switches off (and from time to time the display doesn't switch off at all...).
The only "workaround" I am aware of: use an I²C-LCD-Display (bigger, brighter, better...).

Regards, Dirk

P.S.: Lovely, another user of the GPS device!

Danke Dirk!

I happend after the Battery went dead.... so no power anymore to feed the robot, resulted in this behaviour.
I will keep it in the power supply for the next 24h. I suspected an shortage on the I2C bus... changed the wires on the GPS module etc... nothing helped..

keep u posted. gruss

FYI, sent the TX to FT.

1. Tried 24h on power supply, using a simple TX program writing cont. the display.
2. Did run multiple i2C programs, let it run on battery, let it die, etc.

All my other TX-en are working fine, so I am hoping to get the reason behind this phenomenon.
