Hallo,

Very simple, the encoder motor is using an incremental encoder and not a rotary encoder.
This means that the counter is always increment in both the directions. The counter does not indicate a position only a displacement.
For position indication you will need at least two binary sensors (rotary encoder) instead of one (incremental encoder).
With the incrementale encoder it is only possible to indicate the number of counts that the motor run.
Be aware of the fact that when the motor stops and runs back because of the load, the counter will still increment and not decrement. This shows the weakness of a incremental encoder.

Re: Unterschied Position und Abstand
Hello,
thank you for your explanation. So I can't use the RoboPro Position Element with the encoder motor?

Re: Unterschied Position und Abstand
I am using the English version.
The discussion about "Distance" and "Position" commands is an old one form more than a 1 1/2 year ago.
The posotion command was not operating.
In the English version the Postion commands has been removed in the beta realeases.
It was a left over from the early days of the TX-C.
Something for the futur.
Maybe it could be useful after fischertechnik make the the fastcounters suitable for rotary encoders.
2 fast counter Inputs + one motro input could be part of a black box which implementes a position command.
This proposal was also a forum thread for more than a year ago.
