I have to say I'm a bit disappointed by reading this, though:

After this machine is finished (no idea when) I'll work on a simple project like a basic RC car.

I was starting to suspect your real secret project was starting the first fischertechnik-only casino and next on your list are claw crane, whac-a-mole, or penny-pusher.

Thanks for the compliments, much appreciated!!! As you can guess, the slot machine is a ongoing project, I still have a lot to do. And yes, of course I'll post a video when it's ready. Jan, a ft casino is not a bad idea at all... But after the pinball and the slot machine I'll leave the additional games to other ftc members and go back to simpler projects, at least for a while.

Hi,

Finally... I believe I'm almost finished. I said it would be complex I replaced the 7-segment and OLED displays with 4 8x8 dot matrix modules, added several pending features, fixed many problems and worked a lot on the software. The latter is the most complex part, no doubt about it. There are some pending issues with the gameplay, but I'm getting there at last. One important improvement was on the reels: I replaced the plain paper graphics with new ones (printed on thicker paper) and covered them with carefully cut plastic strips. Lots of work! But the reels rotate very smoothly and noiselessly now. Too bad the printed sheets come out so dull, this is difficult to avoid when printing on paper with an inkjet.

Wow. Amazing job (again)! I don't know how I missed it as a reference, I thought I had reviewed everything in the forum and image pool. Great approach, and a lot closer to the real thing. I particularly loved the coin slot and candy dispenser, very cool.

Yes, that would be a much better approach, your results are great. In my pinball machine I've printed everything on transparent film and used white paper below it, the results were very good as well. Perhaps I'll still try it... More work ahead
