am wondering what sort of effect will happen if i try to use the old 6V motors with the 'new' 9V system. (ie. to use it as a Motor output with the Robo Interface.)

will those old motors get ruined from being given more voltage than it's supposed to get ?

there is no problem to use the old 6V motors with the new 9V system - many fans are using them for years without damages. There exists also an "official" statement of fischertechnik that the 6V motors can be used (unfortunately posted in the old forum which isn't online).

thank you for the information - i will now use the old motors without any worry.

just for theoretical sake, if a motor is rated only up to 6V and is given more than that, would would actually happen ?
