Simple plastic covers for ft boxes / Einfache Kunststoffabdeckungen für ft-Boxen

Beitrag von rubem » 25 Jan 2021, 23:38

I recenly got a storage box 1000 from an used parts batch, but the lid was missing. I don't like my ft parts to gather dust, so I've cut plastic covers out of some archive boxes (made of 2 mm thick corrugated PP). I've also made two small cuts on them so that I can open them more easily. Dimensions are approximately 189 x 128 mm. They look like this:

Hi rubem,

another alternative is corrugated or plain cardboard, but PP will be more permanent of course. If you have access to a 3D-printer, you might find this interesting: viewtopic.php?f=38&t=5904

dt.: Wellpappe geht auch, oder eine 3D-gedruckte Lösung.

Jan, thanks for the link. Congratulations, very nice baseplates, beautifully executed. At first glance I thought they were original ft parts!

But dust will collect through the small holes anyway :D Perhaps it's time for a large 3-d printed building plate (something like this https://ft-datenbank.de/ft-article/483) ;)

Good idea, dust protection inside the ft boxes is something that's always bothered me too.
Look forward to the next ftPedia!

ftPedia is great, reminds me a lot of the great ft manuals in the 70s. Too bad I can understan barely 10% of it :( An auto translation of the text alone to English would be enough.

Google translate and others can translate PDFs up to 10MB, output is an HTLM page w/o images, though. Most ftpedia issues after ca. 2014 are larger than 10MB, so you'd have to split them before translation. I realize this solution is not an ideal one, but might be better than nothing.

Muito obrigado! (Good translation, BTW. Do you know Portuguese?)
