Could you explain how to use the Random sub-program in the ft-Library ? It keeps generating the same numbers everytime i run the program. How do you make it differ...

Re: Question about using the old motors (6V system)

Hello Thomas,

thank you for the information - i will now use the old motors without any worry.

just for theoretical sake, if a motor is rated only up to 6V and is given more than that, would would actually happen ?

Re: AND operator fails by 'Wait for falling' ?

ahh, i see now - yes; that is how i understood 'AND' but i was taking it (the transition) for the switches individually, like so; Switch A 'AND' Switch B Waiting for 'Falling' 1->0 1->0 = 1->0 whereas the 'Waiting For...' takes *both* switches in combination. okay then, thanks for the clarification !

Question about using the old motors (6V system)

am wondering what sort of effect will happen if i try to use the old 6V motors with the 'new' 9V system. (ie. to use it as a Motor output with the Robo Interface.)

will those old motors get ruined from being given more voltage than it's supposed to get ?

Re: AND operator fails by 'Wait for falling' ?

###cut### As long as both of the switches are pressed, the result of the AND-Operator is "1". If you release one of the switches (or both) the result of the AND-Operator will be "0". In your case, the program will wait for "1->0" of the AND-operator - and this appears, if you first press both switc...

AND operator fails by 'Wait for falling' ?

is it my programming logic or is there something failing with the software/hardware ? i have two switches which i want BOTH to be pressed before program control continues, the problem is in the following program; just ONE switch 'falling' and it already proceeds ?! http://a6.sphotos.ak.fbcdn.net/hph...

Re: How to make Variable Input Double-Press SUBprogram ?

@vleeuwen thank you again for your response and the approach from a "bigger picture" viewpoint. i realise your replies are probably more conceptual based on what my signature is ! however, in this case, i'm not trying to learn to apply the tools yet, but how to use them first, basically learning "wh...

Re: How to make Variable Input Double-Press SUBprogram ?

thank you both for your responses, from a general 'design approach' to a specific example even ! however, my objective is not the elevator, but the subprogram itself; i understand there are "many roads to Rome", and my elevator program is actually too simplistic for 'real world application' - howeve...

How to make Variable Input Double-Press SUBprogram ?

Hallo, i'm a newbie (Neuling?) to the FT-Computing line and am now playing around with ROBOpro and it's graphic user interface. i've created a 3-level elevator model and succeeded in moving the lift to each floor based on a switch pressed on each level like so; http://a6.sphotos.ak.fbcdn.net/hphotos...

Re: Braucht Hilfe von altem LLWin Software

Heiko, thanks - i guess i will have to try that. Ulrich, thanks for that feedback - i guess it's possible it is the cable also. what about the file "temp.att" - have you ever seen that file extension on a FT project before ? (maybe that's the USB-RS232 cable requirement ?? - but then it's in the LLW...

thank you all for your responses! Braucht Hilfe von altem LLWin Software

hallo, i grew up "playing" FT in the 80s and in more recent years, saw the Robotics models and decided to get into it, this was in the late 1990s. Then work got a bit hectic and i had to postpone my hobby and now it's ten years later that i *finally* open that Robotics box to start tinkering ! that ...
