the nominal diameter of the ft pins is also 2.6mm and the connectors indicated by sven and me have been used for ft since ever. They were originally used for model railroads first. ft did not make their own pins, they just made the rectangular housing instead of the cylindrical.
For optical reasons, I also never used the cylindrical connectors, but I own many of them which I got with used ft parts...
