i have a problem
i made a mecrano weeled robot [ then you can move sideways ]
i use a accu block for current
i loaded the accu block til it was ful

Hi,

what accu do you use? If TXT switches off the load of the accu is normally not enough.
Do you have a normal 9V power supply from ft which you can use for additional test?

@ bjoern

i m using the red accu block whit fixed battaries
[ i do not know the voltage ]
that gives the above problem
i have a power suply [ not FT ] i shal try that for testing
i can Always try a 9v battary
i have a FT case for that

i need all 4 M outputs for my robot
i want to ad a line sensor
i have lightransistors
where do i get the current for the light
in the I port's whitch is + [ red ] and whitch - [ green ]

Hi,

problem is if the voltage of the accu is not high enough or you have a low capacity. Then the TXT shuts down.

Try a power supply and see what happens.

No problem to use all outputs and some inputs. The ports should be described in the manual of the TXT. BUt for inputs + is left and - is on the right side. You can see the GND symbol printed on the TXT if I remember correctly.

Hi,

http://docs.fischertechnikclub.nl/computing/522429.pdf

Maybe good idea to visit the fischertechnik club NL pages :-)

The TXT-manual and the RoboPro manual in different languages is also available in the RoboPro installation.

See the ROBOpro Terminal.

Hi bluatigro,

since a 9 V battery block just has way less current capacity (and way higher source impedance) it is really a wonder the TXT even tries to start. As current rises the battery voltage drops and the TXT turns off due to low voltage. The battery recovers with rising voltage and the TXT powers up again. The ft accumulator pack has even larger current capacity but its output voltage varies between 8.4 V down to 7 V. The principle is the same but takes just longer in this case (and the TXT stays off when shut down).

The TXT is not designed for battery supply. As Bjoern already proposed: Please try to use a power supply running off your local power grid. It needs not to be the original power supply. Any AC/DC adaptor delivering 9 V to 12 V with at least 1.5 A rating will do. More is welcome. Less is inconvenient, otherwise you might face the situation your TXT shuts off when starting the 4th motor.

Instead you might consider an accumulator pack (correct english naming but always misleading: battery pack) with higher voltage and at least 2 Ah rating. Something like 12 V / 2 Ah. As far as I know the TXT works off 12 V without issues. We had a thread here considering higher supply voltages. Please try to find it yourself and check for the restrictions and recommendations you find there.
