Not happy about Robo TXT release !

I feel the way Fishertechnik released the TXT shows the company lacks respect for its customers. The TXT is nothing but an expensive microcontroller. For the same price one can buy 10 Arduinos or one Ipad ! At that price, the product should perfect and easy to use. All the functions advertised such as BT and WiFi are not available. Perhaps it is comprehensible in a new design (these are however very basic functionalities available in many low cost consumer products). FT did not even bother informing customers beforehand that this was a pre-release version. They just put their product for sale and let customers discover for themselves that they are used as beta-testers. Moreover the product comes with no information whatsoever on when or how an upgrade will be available.

Dear Customers,

a few details in this posting are not correct and in order to avoid missunderstanding I would like to clarify this in the following statement:

Bluetooth and WLAN have been available right from the beginning. It is correct that it could not be switched off and on in the first version we delivered. But it was available. All functions which are necessary to program the models from the ROBOTICS TXT Discovery Set have also been available right from the beginning. We added a flyer to the Discovery Set and the TXT Controller with "Important Hints" where we described, that certain functions e.g. Master/Extension, I2C etc. will be delivered short term with a ROBOPro Update on our website.

In the meantime the first ROBOPro update is online and can be downloaded in the download area. The direct link is: http://www.fischertechnik.de/de/Resourc ... ?raid=8054.

We will keep on working hard in order to add all functions within the next weeks and hope that all of you will enjoy this wonderful new TXT Controller and the new models of the Dixcovery Set.

Noch 2 Fragen von mir:
Werden (wann?) TXT und TX über Bluetooth miteinander Kommunizieren können (wie 2 TX)?

Wird es erweiterte Displaytools geben? (Schriftgröße, -farbe..., Grafiken)

Ich bin übrigens mit dem TXT zufrieden!

Offenbar wird bei FT auch am Wochenende gearbeitet, Respekt !

Funktionen laufen offenbar wie angekündigt, lediglich die Uhr ist im Menü noch nicht vertreten ?

Wann kann mit der angekündigten Information zum "root"-Zugang gerechnet werden ?
