Hobby Experimente & Modelle Bucher - Englisch

Beitragvon wattsie » 01 Mär 2012, 12:12

Does anyone know how I can get my hands on English versions or translations of the Hobby Experimente & Modelle Bucher? I have a couple from the early 70s which are in English but would particularly like translations of the Hobby 3 and Hobby 4 volumes.

Apologies for the arrogant assumption that people will read English, but after 20+ years my school boy German is not that great!

Not sure if this is what you are looking for, but here:
http://www.fischertechnik-museum.ch/mus ... =79&page=2
they do have some downloads (i.e. hobby3_1 & hobby4_1) that are multilingual.
http://www.fischertechnik-museum.ch/mus ... =79&pos=51
http://www.fischertechnik-museum.ch/doc ... _30623.pdf
I do not know so if these are the set instructions and there were additional, more detailed books - or if it's all the same.
Under some of those images, there seems nothing to download, but many "have" a pdf to download...

Hi,

I am also looking for English Version of these documents.

I have originals printed hobby experiments and models, hobby 4 volume 1 and hobby 4 volume 2, both are in in English.

Does anyone know where I can download the English PDF versions of the Hobby Experimente & Modelle Buchers?

English version are called "fischertechnik hobby experiments and models"

Thanks
Michael

Hello Michael,

As Schwabe mentions, the basic set „instructions“ were published in a multi-lingual format, but as far as I know, the „Experimente+Modelle“ books that you seek were never published in English.

Consider it a good exercise in learning German :-)

It is a bit of a pity that this was never so. Having studied it in school, I can read German relatively well (and enjoy it immensely), but my children cannot.
While the new Profi sets are nice, they are at a much lower technical level than these old Hobby books. I wind up translating myself experiments for the kids to do.

Michael,

Whoops, I think when I answered, I missed that you said you actually have *English* copies of a couple of the thick „Experimente+Modelle Bücher“.
I must have been answering Jason's question, but then tacked your name on, rather than his...

I didn't realize those existed... would love to get at least PDFs myself.
Can you take a snapshot of one of the covers?

Longer term, it would be wonderful if we could get scans of those up, either at ft-Datenbank or the wonderful library the Dutch club has at http://docs.fischertechnikclub.nl/inhoud.htm

I have myself paper copies of the official fischertechnik English/French/Dutch translations of the manuals for 1980s Elektronik (30253) and Pneumatik (30863) sets.
For those markets, these sets came with an extra booklet that page-by-page gives text translation of the main booklet. I haven't seen these as PDFs either.
Actually, I partially take that back... The Dutch site does have the Dutch pages of the multi-lingual translations, but not the English or French.
Here's an example of what I mean: http://docs.fischertechnikclub.nl/pneumatik/39187a.pdf

best regards,
Burkhard
