I saw a question in the forum about the features of the power control. I just measured the signal myself:
Result of a scope measurement on the 505283 Plus Power set from Fischertechnik. The intention was to measure the PWM signal. As a load I took a 44 ohm resistor which corresponds to a current of 205 mA. The measured output voltage was 8.9V. Under a double load (22 ohm, 400 mA) the output voltage is still 8.7V. The PWM value can be regulated very well between min and max. The PWM value moves linearly with the position of the knob. At the minus position a very short pulse of 26 usec remains, at the max position the pwm signal goes off for 13 usec.
In summary, the PWM operates at about 100 Hz and the output peak voltage remains constant over the entire range.

I hope this will give you some info about this power set.

Re: PWR Control unit FT 505283
I think this will have answered the question, probably more detailed than the fischertechnik answer will be.
good work.
